Vietnamese naval contingent successfully fulfill mission at MNEK 2018
PANO - From May 8 to 9, Hospital Ship 561 of the Vietnam People’s Navy joined field exercises at sea in the framework of the Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2018 (MNEK 2018) in the Northern waters of Lombok Island, Indonesia.
The Hospital ship 561 joined the second flotilla (tactical group 18.2), commanded by Indonesia Ship Kri Sultan Iskandar Muda-367, to perform search and rescue, underway replenishment, and humanitarian relief.

Participating ships lined up in single file and moved to the designated positions to perform a series of exercises including ship formations, maritime interception, photo exercise (PHOTEX), search and rescue at sea and military medicine.
Colonel Le Hong Chien, Deputy-Commander of Naval Region 4, head of the Vietnamese naval contingent said that the Vietnamese mission and Ship 561 actively and responsibly took part in the MNEK 2018. Through the drill, we boosted cooperation, friendship, mutual understanding and trust with participating delegations, and at the same time gathered more experience in joint collaboration at multilateral activities, he added.
On May 9 afternoon, Hospital Ship 561 saluted its international counterparts, successfully completing its task at MNEK 2018 with compliments from the host country.
