Vietnamese military unit supports Laos in COVID-19 fight
PANO – A mission from the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command held a ceremony on December 24 at the Nam Giang Border Gate in Quang Nam province to present medical supplies and food to Company 533 and Border Protection Company 104 under the Sekong Provincial Military Command (Laos).

At the event, Colonel Nguyen Quang Nam, Deputy Commander of the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command handed over 2.2 tons of rice, essential commodities, and medical supplies to Lao military units, worth more than VND 50 million.
The gifts reflect the good relationship between the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command and the Lao forces who are undertaking missions to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic in border areas of Sekong province.
For his part, Colonel Chanhon Tangphaxay, Head of Technical Department of the Sekong provincial Military Command expressed his thanks for the support of the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command.
He also stressed that the Vietnamese troops’ support will contribute to strengthening the special friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two provinces’ armed forces as well as encourage the Lao troops to better fulfill their duties in the fight against the pandemic.
