Vietnam, U.S. enhance collaboration in settling war legacy
PANO - Senior Colonel Le Dinh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Science under the Ministry of National Defense and Head of the Permanent Office of the National Steering Committee on Overcoming War Consequences of Unexploded Ordnance and Toxic Chemicals in Vietnam (Office 701 in short), held a working session with a visiting delegation from the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations on August 23 in Hanoi.

At the event, the two sides agreed to continue to work closely in overcoming war consequences.
They will coordinate in settling Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin contamination, seeking and identifying martyrs’ remains, supporting persons with disabilities, and handling unexploded ordnance.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen dialogues, contributing to reinforcing and promoting relations between the two countries in the time to come.
