Vietnam - China defense cooperation sees practical and effective developments
PANO – During his visit to China between February 19 and 22, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Defense Minister, paid a courtesy call on Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe, Chinese Defense Minister.
At the meeting, General Vinh conveyed Vietnamese Defense Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich's invitation to the Chinese Defense Minister to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time in 2019.

The Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister underlined that his visit to China this time aims to boost high-ranking delegation exchanges and map out cooperation programs for the two militaries, particularly in the fields of military medicine, personnel training, search and rescue (SAR), defense industry, and UN peacekeeping operations.
General Vinh also urged the Chinese Defense Ministry to support SAR equipment for Vietnamese military engineers who will be deployed to the UN Mission in South Sudan in the coming time.
In turn, General Wei emphasized that China always attaches special importance to the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic partnership. He also added that the bilateral defense cooperation has been developing in an intensive, practical, and effective manner.
The Chinese defense minister accepted the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart to visit Vietnam.
