Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang chaired the meetings. 

At Tan Cang – Thi Vai Cai Mep Terminal, one of the most modern deep-water ports in the country, the delegation toured the facilities and was briefed on cargo handling capabilities, transshipment operations, the port’s capacity to receive large vessels, and its direct connections to international shipping routes.

The head of the Russian delegation highly appreciated the strong development and strategic role of Corps 20 within Vietnam’s seaport system. He recognized Saigon Newport Corporation as a pioneer in building green and smart ports while effectively combining both economic and defense tasks. He also emphasized the considerable potential for bilateral cooperation in logistics, transportation, and international transshipment.

During his visit to Ba Son Corporation, the Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation congratulated the business on its recent celebration of the 100th anniversary of its foundation day. He expressed his admiration for the scale of its facilities and equipment, which enable the business to master advanced technologies in shipbuilding and repair of various modern vessels. In the working session, both sides exchanged views on prospective areas of cooperation. 

Later in the afternoon, the Russian official and his delegation departed Ho Chi Minh City, successfully concluding their working visit in Vietnam.
