PANO – A news briefing on the organization of the upcoming 4th ADMM+ Working Group Conference on Humanitarian Mine Action was held by the General Department of Politics on October 18 in Thach That, Hanoi.

At the news briefing

Deputy Chief of the Department of Information and Education under the General Department of Politics, Major General Ho Ba Vinh; Chief of the Office of the Program 504 (the program on overcoming the aftermath of unexploded ordnances) and Deputy Director of the Vietnam Mine Action Center (VNMAC), Senior Colonel Nguyen Trong Canh; and Deputy Director of the Defense External Relations Institute, Colonel Luong Van Manh co-chaired the news briefing.

According to the panel, the 4th ADMM+ Working Group Conference on Humanitarian Mine Action is scheduled to take place on October 20 under the chair of the Defense Ministries of Vietnam and India, the two first Co-Chairs of the ADMM+ Working Group on Mine Action in the 2014-2017 period.

The 4th conference will review cooperation activities among member countries, particularly the outcomes of the recent field exercise on humanitarian mine action and peacekeeping operations within the ADMM+ framework in India, discuss directions for future cooperation, and hand over the presidency of the working group to Laos and Russia.

The panel also unveiled that the headquarters of VNMAC, which constitutes various subprojects in Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district, Hanoi, will officially be inaugurated on October 20.
