PANO - A mission from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, led by its Minister General Phung Quang Thanh, took part in discussions of the sixth Xiangshan Forum which was officially kicked off on October 18th in Beijing, China.

Apart from the important speech of Chinese Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong, the sixth forum includes four plenary sessions: “The trend of Asia-Pacific security: Opportunities and Challenges”, “The concept of Asia-Pacific security: Development and Fact”, “Asia-Pacific marine security: Danger and Management”, and “Regional terrorism: Causes and Solutions”.

Xiangshan Forum is an annual forum to discuss regional security issues. The participants of this year’s event include defence ministers, commanders, scholars, and researchers from different countries.

As a honourary guest, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen delivered a speech at the banquet to welcome the forum on October 16th.
