Delegates affirmed that the exercise’s outcomes were significant to the COVID-19 prevention and control of ASEAN member countries and they helped the bloc with experience in building exercises to combat other non-traditional security challenges.

From recorded results, military medical forces of ASEAN nations will propose regulations on cooperation in forecasting and coping with pandemics and other non-traditional security challenges as well as rules to deal with real circumstances in an effective and timely manner.

At the event, delegates also discussed measures to strengthen cooperation among military medical forces of ASEAN countries in scientific research and professional expertise, define the role and responsibility of the force in preventing infectious diseases, and put forward a cooperation mechanism between ASEAN military medical forces and other organizations in the fight against infectious diseases.
