"Vietnam and Nepal have a fruitful relationship with potential for development", Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kumal Dahal made the remark during his October 24 reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to India, Bhutan and Nepal Ton Sinh Thanh on his visit to Nepal.
He urged Vietnam’s newly-appointed honorary consul general in Nepal Dr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha to work with the Embassy of Vietnam in India to boost Vietnam – Nepal cooperation.

Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh updated the host on Vietnam’s recent socio-economic development and the opening of the Consulate General in Kathmandu.
He expressed his hope that the Nepalese Prime Minister will promote bilateral cooperation, including high-level exchanges.
The same day, during his meeting with the host Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, the Vietnamese diplomat highlighted the close relationship between the two nations, saying that it will be consolidated.
Vietnam wants to share experience with Nepal, especially in tourism, Thanh said, suggesting the two sides support each other at international forums.
For his part, the host Foreign Minister spoke highly of bilateral relations between the two nations and suggested the two sides considered visa exemptions for diplomatic and official passports.
Vietnam and Nepal established diplomatic ties on May 15, 1975.
