PANO - “Vietnam wants and is willing to cooperate closely with international community in the combat against cyber-attacks in any forms, including the recent cyber-attack”, said Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hai Binh.
The spokesperson said so at the Ministry’s regular press conference on August 4 in reply to reporters’ queries about the recent cyber attacks on the websites of the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

The spokesperson said that all cyber-attacks must be condemned and punished strictly, adding that Vietnam’s relevant agencies immediately dealt with the problems to ensure security, safety and normal air operations at the two airports. Besides, Vietnam’s cyber security companies have investigated the case.
* Also at the press conference, the spokesperson answered reporters’ question on Vietnam’s response to China’s debut of a website providing wrong information related to the sovereignty over the East Sea (South China Sea). He said that the Chinese action could not change the fact that Vietnam has its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
Regarding the case that China recently informed the construction of a cemetery on Quang Hoa Island of Vietnam’s Hoang Sa archipelago, the spokesperson assured that Vietnam has sufficient legal foundations and historical evidence confirming its sovereignty over the entire Hoang Sa archipelago. All activities conducted by other parties in the area of the Hoang Sa archipelago, regardless of intentions, are illegal and could not change the truth that Vietnam has legitimate jurisdiction and sovereignty over the archipelago.
