Vietnam hosts Colombo Plan’s meeting on gender equality
PANO – The 46th Colombo Plan Consultative Committee Meeting (Colombo Plan-CCM46) opened in Hanoi on October 30. This is the first time Vietnam hosted the Colombo Plan’s important session with this year’s theme of gender equality.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung treasured the valuable assistance of the Colombo Plan for the Vietnamese Government, especially the training for over 500 Vietnamese personnel on various fields such as drug prevention, public administration, environment, private economic sector development and gender equality, and so on.

He also underlined Vietnam’s increasingly active participation in managing Colombo Plan activities, such as its successful candidacy for the position of Director of the Drug Advisory Program in 2009-2011, and the General Secretary of the Colombo Plan for the 2018-2022 term.
During the two-day meeting, participants discussed and agreed on orientations and activities of the organization for the next two years, as well as the assistance and commitments of each member country.
