The spokeswoman stated that at the Foreign Ministry’s regular press briefing on November 3.
Her statement was to answer to the query on the possibility that Vietnam may be affected by food security from moves related to the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

She gave statistics that Vietnam produces about 41-43 million tons of rice and 6.5 million tons of meat each year, meeting domestic demand.
She stressed that as a leading farm produce exporter, Vietnam has also importantly contributed to common efforts to resolve global food security challenges.
She cited data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development that agro-forestry-fishery exports and imports stood at some USD 82.1 billion in the first 10 months of this year, up 10.2% from a year earlier.
"As a responsible member of the U.N. and the international community, Vietnam is always ready to coordinate and share experience in ensuring food security, and hopes that countries will enhance international cooperation and be responsibly engaged in the settlement of this issue," the spokeswoman emphasized.
Regarding the Myanmar situation, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman underlined that as a neighboring country in the region and a member of ASEAN, Vietnam always hopes the situation in Myanmar will be stabilized soon to facilitate national construction and development for the sake of the Myanmar people, and to contribute to the building of a united, self-reliant, and strong ASEAN Community.
“In that spirit, Vietnam supports and stays ready to make contribution to ASEAN’s efforts to help Myanmar overcome the current crisis, especially through the effective implementation of the Five-Point Consensus with priority given to ending violence and promoting dialogue and reconciliation among the parties concerned for the sake of the Myanmar people, the solidarity and integrity of ASEAN, and regional peace, stability and cooperation,” she added.
She went on to say that ASEAN’s assistance for Myanmar should be carried out gradually, synchronously, in a balanced and transparent manner. The grouping should also be the core force gathering and coordinating international efforts to support Myanmar.
