Over the past decade, cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the region has made a big step forward in political-diplomatic relations, and cooperation in trade, investment, oil and gas and science-technology. Vietnam drew about USD 1.5 billion of indirect and direct investment for 161 projects from Middle East-African countries and invested about USD 1.55 billion in the region.

Delegates at the conference agreed that despite challenges, domestic reforms, growth prospects and trends in Middle Eastern and East-African economies are factors that can create an important opportunity for Vietnam to bring multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and regional nations to a new development level, in accordance with the good political platform and a large cooperation potential of Vietnam and the region.
