PANO – A project on risk mitigation and the management of human health threats was inked in Hanoi on September 16th.

The project will be implemented in 12 months with a total investment of US$2.1 million funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The project aims to reduce risks and manage threats to human health from infectious diseases in humans and animals in Vietnam across the production chain from farms to chopsticks, particularly reducing the risks of epidemics in the country, and enhance epidemiology-based disease prevention and control.

Additionally, it is to improve cross-border collaboration in the Red River Delta and lower Mekong River basin to reduce the risk of common pathogens between human and animals being spread.

The project will also contribute to ensuring food security and safety and improving the living standards of local breeders.
