PANO – The Japanese Government decided to give relief, worth Yen20 million (US$ 253,000), to Vietnamese people in flood-hit regions in the Mekong Delta, according to the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The floods in October killed 60 people and forced more than 8,000 households displaced.
The relief includes water cans, bags and electric generators for people in flood-hit regions.
Accordingly, representatives from the Japanese Embassy and the JICA’s office in Vietnam, on November 2nd, presented the relief to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
Previously, in October 2010, the Japanese Government offered Yen20million to people in flood-affected regions in the Central of Vietnam.
