PANO – As part of a program signed by the National Library of Vietnam and the Embassy of Germany in Vietnam in May 2010, Carsten Meyer Wiefhausen, Germany’s Deputy Ambassador, and Almuth Meyer Zollisch, the Goethe Institute’s Director in Hanoi, presented to the library 50 books in law, economics and technology on December 14th.
The books, valued at US $2,500, will be put on display at the international reading room in the library, so that students can easily get access to them.
Cooperation between the Goethe Institute and Vietnam National Library has been enhanced and promoted during this year, the German year in Vietnam.
Last September, 800 German book titles were showcased in the international book exhibition in Vietnam and then given to the library.
The Goethe Institute also signed an agreement to train librarians from the library.
