PANO – On the occasion of French President Francois Hollande’s two-day visit to Vietnam, representatives of FPT Corporation, a giant Vietnamese IT company and Telespazio France, a leading French company in satellite operator on September 6 signed a cooperation agreement on the establishment of an EarthLab center in Vietnam – Center for Earth observation satellites.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang and his French counterpart Francois Hollande.

Under the agreement, FPT and Telespazio France will jointly collect and process data related to monitoring the sea and land environments via satellites and other devices to create products and services on a cloud-computing platform. Once established, it will be the fourth EarthLab center of Telespazio France besides other centers located in France, the Republic of Gabon and Luxembourg.

FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh held that based on the strengths of each side, FPT and Telespazio France will work together to develop and provide digital services to customers in various fields by analyzing data from satellites.

For his part, CEO of Telespazio France Jean-Marc GARDIN believed that with its professional experts, FPT would develop new services in terms of geo-information.

On the sidelines of French President Francois Hollande’s two-day visit, FPT had opportunity to meet with France’s 10 leading enterprises, namely Airbus, Alstom, AREVA and Fonciere UNIFINA.
