Thang, who is also Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Theory Council, expressed the desire at a working session with leaders of the RANEPA on November 22 as part of his ongoing working visit to Russia.

He suggested the two sides enhance the sharing of experience, knowledge, and skills which can help adapt to new changes, especially recent impacts of the regional economic context, the fourth industrial revolution, and the transformation to a digital economy.
The two academies should also expand the exchange of lecturers and students to attend short-term study programmes, he said.
RANEPA Rector Prof. Vladimir Mau highlighted the long-term research and training cooperation between HCMA and RANEPA, expressing the hope that the number of Vietnamese trainees pursuing study in the Russian academy will increase in the time to come.
He affirmed that RANEPA is willing to help train and improve the professionalism of Vietnamese civil servants.
During a seminar between the two sides, participant discussed measures to concretize cooperation agreements on research and teaching between the two academies.
They underlined the importance of state management work and relationship between the state management apparatus and citizens; how to further strengthen the Vietnam-Russia cooperation in a new context, and international issues of common concern, as well.
Later the same day, the Vietnamese delegation visited and had a working session with the Institute of Far Eastern Studies under the Russian Academy of Sciences, during which the two sides exchanged views on international issues in Asia-Pacific, the US-China trade war, and its impacts on the world economy and trade.
