In an interview with the press ahead of the visit, the Chinese diplomat said that this is the first China visit of a senior leader of Vietnam after Vietnam and China issued a joint statement on continuing deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam - China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance during the Vietnam visit in December 2023 by Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping.

The visit is an important interaction between senior leaders of the two parties and two countries, contributing to maintaining and strengthening strategic exchanges between the two sides. “The top task of the two sides during this visit is to accelerate the realization of the important common perceptions of the two parties’ highest-ranking leaders,” he said. 

The ambassador also underlined that the cooperation and exchanges between the two legislatures are important to the relations between the two parties and countries and that the Vietnamese top legislator’s official visit to China is the continuation of the tradition of upholding close exchange between senior leaders of the two legislative bodies. He hoped that the visit would bring out numerous outcomes and he looks forward to the visit.

In a recent meeting with N.A. Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo emphasized that the building of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance” marked a great milestone signaling the development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

Explaining his opinion, the diplomat said that what he emphasized was the consensus between the two sides. The building of such a community is a step to deepen, enrich and upgrade the two countries’ partnership and their traditional friendship and promote the relations of the two parties and countries to a new height.

“This also proves that the political trust between the two parties has reached even a greater height, becoming a milestone in the history of the relations between the two parties and the two countries,” the ambassador said.

He emphasized the main meaning that China and Vietnam are good comrades, good partners with the same direction, a shared future for the people's happiness, the country's prosperity, and for peace and development of humanity. Both parties and countries have views and principles of putting the people in the center and define the principle of pursuing progress for humanity.

Regarding the eighth Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange slated for this month, the diplomat said that it will help boost strategic exchanges between senior leaders of the two militaries; deepen the cooperation between the two sides’ arms and services, particularly the border guard forces; promote the important role of maintaining peace and stability in the shared border areas, strengthen trade-economic exchanges in border areas and people-to-people exchange.

This year marks the tenth year of this mechanism and the eighth edition of the exchange.

“We hoped that the exchange will make great contribution to building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,” stated Ambassador Xiong Bo.
