He hoped the cooperative relations with Vietnam will be promoted in various sectors in the coming time, saying that he will visit Vietnam in a proper time at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

On the occasion, the Rwandan President asked the ambassador to convey his invitation to visit Rwanda to President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Ambassador Doanh, for his part, delivered the Vietnamese Government’s congratulations to the Rwandan Government on its successful tenure as President of the African Union (AU) in 2018 as well as its election to the post of the OIF General Secretary for 2018-2020.

Doanh wished that the Rwanda Government and people will create favourable conditions for him to fulfill his entrusted mission, contributing to developing all-round cooperation between the two nations.

Earlier on February 21, Ambassador Doanh had a working session with Rwandan Foreign Minister Richard Sezibera, discussing measures to bolster collaboration between the two foreign ministers and two countries.

The ambassador took the occasion to ask Rwanda to back Vietnam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.

Sezibera affirmed to support Vietnam at the election in June this year.
