Vietnam, US boost economic and trade ties
PANO - The bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties play an important role in consolidating and promoting Vietnam-US relations.
This statement was made by US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink during his meeting with Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on June 23.
Recently, the operation of many US enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City has contributed to the city’s construction and development.
The US has also paid attention to accelerating bilateral cooperation with Vietnam in many fields, such as defense, health, education, and settling war consequences.
Ambassador Kritenbrink expects that in the coming time, the bilateral ties will continue to develop, contributing to the development of each country.
For his part, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his hope that US enterprises would engage deeper in HCM City’s development, with a focus on smart urban construction projects, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-US friendship and cooperation.
He also suggested holding an online economic forum between HCM City, Hanoi, and the US, with the participation of enterprises run by Vietnamese nationals in the US, to seek ways to deal with difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and intensify bilateral cooperation in education, tourism, and trade.
