Vietnam, Russia boost judicial ties
Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh discussed bilateral ties in judicial affairs with Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Russia Yyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev at a working session in Moscow that took place during the former’s working visit to Russia from March 28-31.
Binh said the two countries reaped encouraging results under signed agreements, including regular exchange of all-level visits to share experience in legislation and court hearings.
He added that thanks to reference to Russia’s law and Russian experts’ experience in judicial affairs, the Vietnamese National Assembly adopted and promulgated a series of important codes that laid a foundation for Vietnam’s judicial activities.
He requested that both countries should further promote cooperation at local level, specifically between Hanoi City People’s Court and Moscow provincial Court.
The guest suggested Russia assists Vietnam in training lecturers for the Judicial Academy, improve the capacity of court staff, and share experience in the road-map to wage reform and build an electronic court system to ensure information safety.
Lebedev, for his part, expressed readiness to share relevant information and pledged to direct units concerned to offer optimal support to the Vietnamese side.
During a working session with the Judicial Department under the Supreme Court of Russia and the Chief Justice of the Moscow provincial Court, the Vietnamese delegation discussed specific steps in the near future, especially in training of judicial staff and cooperation between the Hanoi People’s Court and Moscow provincial Court.
