The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio; representatives of ministries, central and local agencies, and foreign diplomatic agencies in Vietnam. On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of General Staff, joined the celebration.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son wished Ambassador Yamada Takio and his spouse all the best. Through the ambassador, the Vietnamese official extended best wishes to the Emperor and Empress, the Royal Family, the Government, and people of Japan.

Minister Son emphasized that the Vietnam-Japan relationship is a typical example of success in bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and its partners, and Japan maintains its position as Vietnam's top partner. The continuous strong development of the bilateral ties has become a highlight in international relations, especially in the context that the region and the world are facing many rapid and complex changes. With great achievements obtained over the past 50 years since they established their diplomatic relations, the sincerity, the connection between the two peoples, and the support and consensus of the leaders of Vietnam and Japan, Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed confidence that the relationship between the two countries and peoples will sustainably and effectively develop, meeting the aspirations and interests of the two peoples and contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

For his part, Ambassador Yamada Takio affirmed that Japan-Vietnam relationship is in the best development stage ever. He highlighted the upgrading of the bilateral relationship to comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world in 2023 and expressed confidence that the Japan-Vietnam relations will continue to have remarkable developments in the coming time.
