Vietnam, India to enhance comprehensive strategic partnership
PANO – Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung attended a virtual workshop held by Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Kumar Verma on August 12 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day (August 15).

Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese diplomat congratulated India on its significant socio-economic achievements over the past 75 years. Mr. Dung also took the occasion to review the development of Vietnam – India relations from traditional friendship to strategic partnership in 2007 and comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
The Vietnamese deputy minister also proposed measures and orientations to further enhance the bilateral relationship in the future.
At the event, participants exchanged their views on the establishment and development of India since the country gained independence more than seven decades ago. They evaluated that after 75 years, India has now become a modern and strong country with increasingly important role in the region and the world.
After analyzing the two nations’ conditions and strengths, participants recommended specific measures to further strengthen Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership in the coming time.
