Addressing the event, Gen. Nghia emphasized that the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba was a historic milestone, marking the beginning of the exemplary, special bond between the two brotherly nations. Over the past 65 years, the two peoples have always stood side-by-side, shared hardships and triumphs, fostered solidarity, and constantly strengthened cooperation, nurturing a heroic relationship that has become an invaluable common asset of the two nations and a unique symbol in international relations.

On behalf of the leadership of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, the Vietnamese general expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the special friendship, steadfast solidarity, close-knit bond, and generous, heartfelt support that Cuba has extended to Vietnam. He affirmed that Vietnam - Cuba relations continue to be consolidated and strongly developed across all fields, including politics - external affairs, multilateral collaboration, defense - security, economy - trade - investment, agriculture, science - technology, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed his belief that with the solid foundation of 65 years of loyal friendship tested and strengthened through time and with the strong political will of both countries’ leaders, the brotherly Vietnam - Cuba relationship will continue to develop in an intensive and effective manner, bringing benefits to the two peoples, supporting sustainable development goals of the two countries, and contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in both regions and the world.

Numerous noble gestures exchanged between the two peoples have been deeply engraved in historical memory and passed down to successive generations of leaders and citizens of both nations. The Cuban diplomat expressed his hope that in a world filled with turbulence and challenges, the two countries would continue to stand together, promote solidarity, and advance cooperation for the happiness of their peoples and for global peace, justice, and prosperity.
