During their talks, the two foreign ministers highly valued the bilateral cooperation over the past time, especially in the closer political ties, which were demonstrated  through regular visits and meetings by senior leaders, and ministry and sector officials.

Furthermore, both Vietnam and Brazil still have further potentials for cooperation, especially in trade and investment.

To expand the comprehensive partnership, Minh and Ferreira agreed that the two sides need to enhance exchange of visits, especially among high-ranking leaders, while effectively promoting the implementation of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, and maintaining regular political consultation at deputy-foreign minister level.

In addition, Vietnam and Brazil should continue implementing signed cooperation agreements, while completing the legal framework for their bilateral cooperation in diplomacy, defense industry, trade, investment as well as promoting connections and direct partnerships among their business communities.

The two sides also committed to closely cooperate and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Foreign Minister urged Brazil to soon recognize Vietnam’s market economy.
