Speaking at the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang stressed that over the past 45 years, under the sound leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the country has experienced remarkable changes in all fields, with political stability, good social order, rapid economic growth, and the expansion of international relations.
He emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries have been unceasingly strengthened. In the context of a changing world and complicate development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Laos and Vietnam have continued to do their best to constantly develop the bilateral cooperation in all fields.
On the occasion, the ambassador expressed his thanks on behalf of the Lao Party, State and people to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their great support and valuable assistance for Laos’ revolutionary cause both during the resistance wars for national salvation in the past and the current period of national construction and defense. He wished that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people would gain greater achievements in their national construction cause as they move towards industrialization, modernization, and building of a prosperous, strong and democratic Vietnam with an equal and civilized society.
In turn, NA’s Standing Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong congratulated Laos on its great historic accomplishments in national development and defense.
She said under the close instructions of leaders of the two countries, the Vietnam-Laos cooperation has been expanding, bringing practical benefits to their people despite rapid and complicated developments in the region and the world.
She highlighted that the Vietnamese Party and State always pay much attention to increasingly reinforcing and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
She wished the Lao people would gain even greater achievements in their national development and defense cause, and in implementing the Resolution of the 10th National Congress of the LPRP, towards a successful 11th National Congress of the LPRP.
