During the reception, Captain Bui Van Quy, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation, introduced the secretary-general to the corporation’s outstanding activities in general and TC-HICT’s activities in particular.

As a member of the IMO, Vietnam and the corporation have been constantly striving to upgrade infrastructure and equipment to follow the green growth trend in the world in line with Vietnam’s COP26 commitments on reducing greenhouse gas and carbon dioxide emissions, he added.

Also, Captain Quy underlined that the visit of Mr. Kitack Lim to TC-HICT showed his interest in the development of Vietnam and the maritime industry as well.

For his part, Mr. Kitack Lim highly appreciated the development, capacity and potential of Vietnam’s maritime industry.

The IMO and the Vietnam Maritime Administration expressed their belief that the Saigon Newport Corporation will continue to be a pioneer in green maritime logistics and sustainable port development in Vietnam’s maritime industry.
