At the reception

During a reception for Douglas Elmendorf, Dean of the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University of the US on January 15, Nhan said his city has achieved many development achievements in recent years, however it is forecast to face many challenges in the coming time.

He suggested the US school, with its experience, cooperate with HCM City in education development, and in seeking solutions to help the southern Vietnamese city address challenges and difficulties facing it.

Elmendorf, who is on a working visit to HCM City, thanked the municipal authorities for their support for Harvard University’s activities in Vietnam, saying that both nations attach importance to the value of education, and are aware that knowledge can solve challenges.

Harvard University will study, propose solutions, and provide training courses to improve management capacity of HCM City’s staff, he said.

It can serve as a bridge to support and find measures to solve challenges in the development process of the city, he added.
