Hanoi promotes comprehensive cooperation with Canadan, US localities
A high-ranking delegation from Hanoi led by Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang visited Canda and the US from June 11-25, aiming to open new cooperation opportunities between Hanoi and localities of the two countries.
During her stay in Canada, Hang met with Deputy Mayor of Toronto Denzil Minnan-Wong and Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne.
Briefing the hosts about Hanoi’s socio-economic development and policies to attract foreign investors, Hang said that Hanoi wants to lure more Canadian investment and enhance cooperation with Canada in various sectors.
Leaders of Hanoi, Toronto and Ontario agreed to step up cooperation in investment attraction, tourism development, education-training, finance-banking, insurance and green technology.
Hang thanked Toronto and Ontario’s authorities for supporting Vietnamese people living and working in the host country and congratulated the hosts on Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Working with the Supreme Court of Canada, Hang and members of the delegation suggested maintaining exchange and cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation also held meetings with Judge Herbert B Dixon at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and Director of the American Bar Association Elizabeth Andersen during their visit to the US from June 16.
In addition, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US and Vietnamese permanent mission to the United Nations during their tour.
