Foreign leaders send congratulations to President To Lam
Leaders of the U.S., the Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, and Serbia have sent letters and messages of congratulations to To Lam on his election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the 15th National Assembly.
In his congratulatory letter, U.S. President Joe Biden reaffirmed the U.S.’s commitment to support a strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Vietnam. He joyfully assessed that after nearly 29 years of establishing the diplomatic relations, the countries have seen significant progress in their bilateral ties. The sides’ new partnership will be a driving force for prosperity and security in the region, he noted.
Biden said he believes that the relationship will further develop in the coming years as partners and friends, and hopes to cooperate with the Vietnamese president to turn that future into reality and to build a world of peace, prosperity, and safety for all.
In his congratulatory message, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands expressed confidence that the constructive and extensive relationship between the two countries will continue to grow for the benefit and prosperity of their peoples.
President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic also sent their letters of congratulations to President To Lam.
