Education ministry consults stakeholders on higher education strategy
PANO - The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the World Bank in Vietnam organized a Higher Education Strategy Stakeholder Consultation on March 29 in Hanoi.
The conference aimed to collect comments from experts and researchers in order to develop an overall strategy for higher education in Vietnam in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2035, as a basis for comprehensive and sustainable development of Vietnam's higher education in the future.
However, Vietnam's higher education sector still has several shortcomings as the quality of university graduates has yet to meet the demand for socio-economic development and international integration, while there is a lack of scientific research with international quality standards.
According to the experts, Vietnam's higher education needs to integrate into development of the world, build a higher education system on the grounds of drawing lessons from other countries and identify pillars in strategies of higher education.
