Distressed Filipino fisherman returns home
PANO – The Binh Dinh provincial Department of External Affairs held a ceremony on May 11 to hand over a distressed Filipino fisherman to the Embassy of the Philippines in Vietnam.
Previously, Anding Nadie Repil, aged 52, was rescued by Vietnamese fishing boat BD 98435-TS when he was drifting in the waters about 180 nautical miles East of Quy Nhon city.

After providing him with first aid, Captain of boat BD 98435-TS Phan Kha and crew-members took the distressed fisherman to shore and handed him over to Tam Quan Nam Border Post of the Binh Dinh provincial Border Guard Command on May 2.
At the handover ceremony, the Binh Dinh provincial Department of External Affairs praised the good deed of Captain Kha and his crew-members, adding that the action has contributed to promoting the friendship between Vietnam and the Philippines.
