Cuba is confident that Vietnam will achieve more positive outcomes in national building and development
PANO - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa, who is visiting Vietnam to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025, on April 28 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnamese Vice President emphasized that the Vietnamese people always treasure the sincere solidarity and invaluable support that the Cuban Party, State, and people have provided for Vietnam throughout nearly seven decades. She said that despite geographical distance, the two countries share noble ideals and a relationship foundation which was established by President Ho Chi Minh and Cuban leader Fidel Castro, and have been nurtured by generations of leaders and people from both countries.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that in any circumstances, Vietnam always considers Cuba its top important and reliable partner.
For his part, Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa expressed his deep impression with Vietnam’s achievements in the 50 years after the national liberation and reunification. He voiced confidence that Vietnam would continue to achieve even more positive outcomes in its national construction and development, remaining a shining example of combining economic growth with ensuring social welfare for developing nations around the world.
The Cuban leader thanked Vietnam for its assistance to Cuba during the current difficult period and to the country’s strategic, high-priority areas such as food security and energy.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing supporting each other at international multilateral forums and exchanging measures to further boost bilateral relations during the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year 2025. They emphasized their determination to jointly work with each other in improving the lives of their citizens.
Earlier the same afternoon, the Cuban Party and State delegation laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue in the city named after him.
