One million coconuts from Ben Tre Province of Vietnam will be served as drinking water at final rounds of the European Football Championship 2012 (EURO 2012) in Poland and Ukraine in July, 2012, according to the European Coconut Export and Import Joint-stock Company (Eurococo) at recent press conference in Hanoi.
Mr. Pham Quoc Toan, the Chairman of Board of Directors of Eurococo said that the program aims to popularize the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends. Therefore, each coconut will bring slogan, “Come to Vietnam to discover its culture and products. EURO is the destination of many businesses. They will know about Vietnam through the project”.
Mr. Toan also said among one million coconuts, 700,000 will be sold at US$2.50 each in Poland and Ukraine, the rest will be presented as gifts to officials and fans during the 30-day sports event.
Those coconuts will be introduced at restaurants, hotels and outdoor areas for fans.
