Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh accompanied by representatives of 20 Vietnamese businesses has paid a working visit to Angola to seek stronger trade links between the two countries.
During their stay from July 21-23, the Deputy Minister worked with leading officials of the Angolan ministries of industry, trade and foreign affairs, and the Angolan Industry Association.
They discussed measures to boost bilateral economic and trade ties and agreed to speed up negotiations for the signing of agreements encouraging investment.
Angolan officials said they hope Vietnamese firms will take an active part in the country’s economic diversification, especially in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, farm product processing, garment and industry.
They pledged to assist Vietnamese enterprises with trade activities.
During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also participated in the Vietnam-Angola business forum and the Luanda international trade fair to learn about opportunities and challenges in the host market.
