Pepsico Vietnam Company has lately introduced a potato snack, named Poca, to the market.
According to Mr Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, Pepesico Indochina’s CEO, Poca snack, made of fresh potatoes, is the result of a study carried out for three years in Lam Dong province.
“Potato farms were developed in Lam Dong districts including Duc Trong, Dong Duong and Da Lat City on an area of 100ha,” said Mr Nguyen Quang Hiep, vice general director of Pepsico Vietnam.
The three-phase project cost US$ 30 million, Mr Hiep added.
In the first phase, a potato processing factory and potato farms were established at a cost of about US$ 20 million. The factory is located in Song Than Industrial Park 3 in Binh Duong province with an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes of products.
The factory’s annual capacity will be upgraded to 15,000-20,000 tonnes.
