Deputy head of the Department of Overseas Labor Nguyen Gia Liem said Taiwan and Japan are traditional labor export markets of Vietnam.

Japan is the most potential at present thanks to good wages and numerous opportunities for skilled workers, he added.

In 2018, close to 70,000 Vietnamese workers went to work in Japan. Currently, nearly 200,000 are working in the East Asian country.

Japan has demands for over 345,000 foreign workers in various fields such as care-giving for the elderly, hotel reception, electricity, car repair and maintenance, aviation logistics, restaurant, construction, shipbuilding and agriculture.
