The 13th Conference of the International Association for Statistical Computing - Asian Regional Section (IASC-ARS) 2025 is taking place in HCM City from December 4 to 6.

In his opening remarks, UEH Vice President Assoc. Prof. Bui Quang Hung described the conference as a milestone for Vietnam’s research community, signaling the nation’s push to strengthen statistical and data-science capabilities and cement its role as an active member of the global statistical community.

The event features 33 invited sessions and 11 contributed sessions, totaling 169 peer-reviewed papers that span computational statistics, machine learning, big data analytics, and applied disciplines. Many presentations highlighted cutting-edge advancements in statistical computing, data science, AI, and interdisciplinary applications, he said.

IASC-ARS President Prof. Donguk Kim said the agenda is structured around six core clusters: deep learning and Bayesian computation, complex and high-dimensional data analysis, modern econometrics and time-series forecasting, spatial and environmental statistics, biostatistics, and large-scale data science. The format is designed to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and expose young researchers to the latest statistical and computational frontiers.
