With a rapidly expanding economy, a youthful, tech-savvy population, and robust government initiatives, Vietnam is emerging as a leader in digital innovation, it wrote, adding that Vietnamese businesses are increasingly harnessing technology to streamline operations, improve customer experiences, and contribute to economic growth.

The country has outlined ambitious targets for its digital transformation, aiming for the digital economy to contribute 20% of GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030, it noted. 

Key areas of focus include developing fintech and digital payment platforms, advancing AI and IoT technology integration, delivering universal broadband and reaching full 5G coverage by 2030, and improving digital skills and workforce training.

The article stressed that Vietnam’s digital economy is expanding rapidly, driven by advancements in e-commerce, fintech, and telecommunications. The Southeast Asian nation’s IT sector is also experiencing significant growth, with a rising focus on advancements in AI, blockchain, and automation. The country’s software industry is emerging as a prominent outsourcing hub for global technology firms, offering software development and IT solutions at competitive costs.

According to the article, the future of digital transformation in Vietnam will stand out in the aspects of strengthening public-private partnerships; advancing AI, automation, and smart manufacturing; and cybersecurity and data protection.

It noted that by harnessing technology, encouraging strategic investments, and prioritizing digital inclusivity, Vietnam is well-positioned to emerge as a leading digital economy in Southeast Asia.
