Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh on April 7 worked with Hanoi’s leaders on the progress of the equitisation and re-organisation of state-owned enterprises in the city.
Stressing the significance of the work, Deputy PM Ninh said despite Hanoi’s great efforts over the past years, the city has yet to tackle all shortcomings and obstacles in the process of restructuring state-run firms.
Hanoi should promptly report all the difficulties to the government for timely policy adjustment, while making specific plans for each enterprise in order to finish equitisation by 2015, he said.
The Deputy PM noted that the city should pay more attention to land issues during the privatisation process of state-run farms to utilise land effectively.
According to Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao, the city has drawn many useful lessons during the implementation of the work for better performance.
The city is setting up a Steering Committee to direct the reforms of enterprises, he said.
According to a city report, 30 local firms were restructured in 2013. The city plans to reshuffle 45 other enterprises in the 2014-2015 period and withdraw state capital from 74 others, added the report.
