Vietnamese and Singaporean enterprises enhance cooperation in clean energy
PANO - SP Group (Singapore) and Hoa Sen Group (Vietnam) signed a strategic cooperation agreement for sustainable development of clean energy in Vietnam on June 27 in Ho Chi Minh City.
SP Group is a leading energy corporation and provider of sustainable energy solutions in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region. The cooperation between the two sides aims to contribute to Vietnam's national goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. SP Group will give advice on the transition to clean energy, investment solutions for power grid infrastructure, cooling systems, and energy-saving, along with other projects at Hoa Sen Group's infrastructure and steel mills nationwide.
The cooperation will help Hoa Sen Group boost the use of clean energy in production activities; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; meet compulsory green standards in line with global trends; and promote export channels in markets of nearly 90 countries and territories, especially in international markets with high requirements on commodity emissions, namely Europe, the U.S., and others.
According to Vu Van Thanh, CEO of Hoa Sen Group, the cooperation with SP Group will realize solutions to green production and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to meet the green standards, while increasing competitiveness and expanding exports for the unit's products. Moreover, the group is determined to contribute to Vietnam's national goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
For his part, Brandon Chia, Managing Director of Southeast Asia and Australia for Sustainable Energy Solutions at SP Group, stated that this partnership demonstrates SP Group’s commitment to supporting the transition to clean energy by promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources at manufacturing plants in Vietnam, including Hoa Sen Group.
