The meeting is aimed to promote business cooperation, investment and connection of businesses of the two sides.

At the meeting, VCCI Vice Chairman Doan Duy Khuong said Vietnam – Oman trade and economic relations have expanded since the two countries established diplomatic ties.

With its population of almost 100 million and strategic geographic location in Southeast Asia, Vietnam has strengths in exporting garment-textile, footwear, mobile phones, iron and steel, wood and agricultural products.

With the main revenue from oil, this Middle East country imports up to 60 percent of its food demand and the figure is likely to increase in the coming time because of its growing demand, which provides an opportunity for major Vietnamese exports, particularly agricultural products, to enter Oman and other Middle East markets.

The meeting took place during a visit to Vietnam of a business delegation of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry from April 21-25.

The Oman delegation includes major companies which want to set up partnership with local businesses in construction, health, road traffic, trade, interior decoration, aquaculture, organic fertilizer, construction materials, food, tourism, oil and gas and electric devices.

During the meeting, Vietnamese and Omani businesses introduced their products to each other and seek partnership to promote trade and business cooperation in the coming time.
