Addressing the 11th meeting of the Vietnam - U.S. Joint Committee on Science-Technology Cooperation in Hanoi on December 9, Duy highlighted the strong development of science and technology in the U.S., Vietnam and the whole world, directly influencing people’s life. Alongside, digital technology and artificial intelligence are growing strongly, serving the circular economy and sustainable development.

For his part, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper said that the increasing cooperation between the two countries in science and technology will help promote the prosperity and progress of both sides.

In 2023, the two sides will celebrate their strategic partnership, he noted, proposing that based on their long-term cooperative relations, the two sides can elevate their collaboration in science and technology to a new height.

At the event, participants discussed the prioritized science and technology areas of Vietnam and the United States in the coming years, and the fields with high cooperation potential such as R&D activities in artificial intelligence, and capacity building for STEM education.

They also gave opinions on reports of four working groups in the fields of health and medical sciences, climate change, conservation and biotechnology in agriculture.
