At the  meeting, leaders of Binh Phuoc province briefed the diplomat on the province’s COVID-19 prevention and control work and the post-pandemic economic recovery plan.

The provincial leaders expressed their hope that Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro would strengthen connectivity, promote Binh Phuoc’s culture and investment environment to Japanese people and enterprises, especially foster the exchange with Japanese localities.

Also, the leaders said that the province can organize many investment promotion activities in different forms, so as to Japanese enterprises would get closer to the province’s agricultural products, commodity industry sector, adding that they hope to receive technical assistance related to high technology and agricultural sector.

For the Japanese Consul General part, he affirmed that Binh Phuoc has a lot of advantages in terms of geographical location, transportation infrastructure, and high-quality agricultural products. Notably, there are increasingly more Japanese consumers preferring Vietnamese cashew nuts.

He hoped that the province would continue improving the investment environment to attract more Japanese firms and support those operating there.

Japan has many small-scale assistance programs which are suitable for local people in Binh Phuoc to improve the quality of their life, contributing to further tightening the Vietnam-Japan relations, he noted.
