Earlier, Nguyen Tien Linh was chosen as one of ten candidates for the AFC best player of October in the final round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian qualifiers.

The second place went to Saudi Arabian player Firas Al Buraikan with 8.2 percent of the votes. With 8.08 percent of the votes, Iranian player Sardar Azmoun ranked third.

Meanwhile, Korean superstar Son Heung Min and Chinese striker Wu Lei received only 2.41% and 1.81 % of the votes, respectively.

In the final qualifying round of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian Qualifiers, Vietnam lost 4 games in a row. However, striker Nguyen Tien Linh scored two goals against China and Oman in the last two games of October.

Previously, Linh was identified as a talent of Asian football and he dominated the list of “AFC Future Star.”

As scheduled, Vietnam will have the next two home clashes against Japan on November 11 and Saudi Arabia on November 16. The two games will be seen as a chance for the team to gain the first points in the third qualifying round of the World Cup 2022.
