Vietnamese athletes also competed in various categories including individual male Phan The Gia Hien, and individual female Tran Ha Vi. Meanwhile, Tran Ngoc Thuy Vi/Nguyen Che Thanh/Le Hoang Phong and Vuong Hoai An/Nguyen Viet Anh/Hoang Gia Bao joined the trios event, while Thanh and four other teammates performed in the group event.
The championship took place in Thailand from September 1 to 5. Vietnam sent a 28-strong contingent to the competition.
Recently, Vietnam won three gold medals at the 31st SEA Games. One month later, Vi, Thanh, Phong, Anh and An won the world championship group title in Portugal.
