Additionally, Vietnam’s U23 received VND one billion (USD 44,02) from the FLC Group. Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, also a player of the FLC Thanh Hoa football club, received VND 500 million (USD 22,011).

In addition, the team has received rewards from various organizations and individuals, including the Vietnam Television (VND 500 million), the Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam-Vietcombank (VND one billion), the Vietnam Professional Football company (VND one billion), and acting President of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Club Le Cong Vinh (VND 500 million), among others.

Right after U23 Vietnam’s impressive victory, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated head coach Park Hang Seo and the team.

In his phone call to Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Le Hoai Anh, who is now in China, PM Phuc commended the indefatigable spirit of the Vietnamese players.

He affirmed that the historic victory was a significant event of the country and went into its football history, bringing a great pride to domestic fans.

The PM assigned Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien to appropriately commend and reward head coach Park Hang Seo and his players.

Vietnam became the first Southeast Asian country to enter the final of the AFC U23 championship after beating Qatar 4-3 in the penalty shootout on January 23 in China.

It will play against Uzbekistan on January 27.
