Cycling teams at the opening ceremony

Addressing the opening ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, Major General Pham Van Huan stressed that the tournament is an important socio-political and sport event, showing deep gratitude towards the previous generations who made the resounding victory in Dien Bien Phu those days.

The general revealed that the organizers of the tournament would also carry out gratitude activities on the sidelines of the race, such as presentation of “Gratitude" houses to national contributors, scholarships to needy students in remote areas, and more.

Right at the opening ceremony, the organizing panel handed over 20 gifts to veterans in Hanoi, 10 gifts to policy beneficiaries, VND 100 million to needy students keen on study in Hanoi, VND 50 million to national contributors in Hanoi city and Hoa Binh, Son La, and Dien Bien provinces.

On this occasion, Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank also presented VND 130 million to needy students with good academic grades of Hanoi and the provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La, and Dien Bien.
