Nguyen Thuy Linh secures slot at 2024 Olympics
PANO - On April 17, Vietnam’s top female badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh, officially secured her slot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer. This marks Vietnam's seventh qualification for the 2024 Olympics.
Posting to her personal social media accounts, Vietnam's No.1 badminton player shared, "Hello everyone, to those who have supported and followed me throughout this journey, especially during a year of accumulating points to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Today, I am pleased to announce that I have met the requirements to participate in the Olympic Games."

However, at the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships, Nguyen Thuy Linh did not perform well. She notably fell to the 24th position in the world's singles women rankings.
As a result, Thuy Linh may not be seeded at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, making her likely to face tough opponents in the preliminary rounds.
This will be Thuy Linh's second consecutive appearance at the Olympic Games. To secure her ticket to Paris, the badminton player from Phu Tho province accumulated points by competing in dozens of international tournaments over the past year.
Currently, Vietnam has secured seven slots for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Trinh Thu Vinh and Le Thi Mong Tuyen (shooting), Vo Thi Kim Anh (boxing), Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming), Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting), and Nguyen Thuy Linh (badminton).
